The Lincoln Highway Association

The Lincoln Highway Association was formed July 1, 1913 to build a highway from Times Square, New York City to San Francisco, California. It was named in honor, of assassinated, President Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln penny was also minted beginning in 1913. The Lincoln Highway paralleled the Union Pacific Railroad, Right of Way, for much of the way thru Nebraska. The Lincoln Highway, became Highway 275 and now known as Reichmuth Road. We have a Lincoln Highway sign showing that Valley, was a member of the Lincoln Highway Association. The sign was located near the intersection of old Hwy 275 and Hwy 64 and was labeled ‘Automobile Club of Southern California’. The old Humphrey Oil & Service was located at 104 E Hwy, now changed to N Spruce St. and Reichmuth Road.
